Reflection Questions for Video
THREE | In Antioch, the church cultivated friends, not followers.
- Describe a relationship with a friend or mento who has impacted the way you follow Jesus.
-
Describe a relationship with a friend who is of a different generation, ethnic background, who speaks a different language, or is from a different culture who has impacted the way you see diversity in the Body of Christ.
FOUR | In Antioch, they were looking for God’s called, not just the charismatic.
-
What is a gift God has given you that is often overlooked by many, but still seems to be making a difference in people’s lives as you share it with them?
-
Are you ever discouraged in your gifts because you don’t feel like they are recognized? If so, explain.
- What are the overlooked gifts in the lives of people around you that you could foster and encourage them to step into? How could you encourage them?
FIVE | In Antioch, the church was committed to sending, not staying.
-
If you could be sent out as a missionary from your church, where do you think you would be sent? (Within the church? Within the neighborhood? Beyond?)
- If that were to happen, how would you need your church family to be praying for you?
SIX | In Antioch, the church was living in exile, not its own empire.
-
In what ways do you most feel like you’re living in a world you don’t belong to?
-
In what ways might you reimagine the ways you’re living out your faith because our culture is changing so quickly?
-
In what ways do you imagine that God may be doing something new through your life and through the life of South Everett Foursquare this year?

- What places and/or resources are available to us by which we can broadcast thoughts, messages and ideas?
- How closely is our sense of self-worth connected to the size and scope of our platform?
- In what ways are you currently experiencing the private presence of God in your life?
- When Jesus asks you, what do you love about my private presence, what do you say to Him?
TWO | In Antioch, the church was filled with the prophetic, not the performance.
- How might you be/could you be operating as a prophetic voice?
- How do you see South Everett operating as a prophetic voice on Sunday and during the throughout the week?
- Are there ways you may be striving to gain the attention of others, through self-driven performance?

Video: A Visit to Bethlehem (Dr. Randall Smith)
Devotional Questions:
ONE: If I can remember that Christ came into the chaotic realities of our world as a baby 2000 years ago, I can find JOY amidst the chaotic realities of our world today.
Reflection Question: Just like Solomon wondered if God would really dwell on earth, what are you wondering about if God could really do today? How might that specific action on God’s behalf bring you JOY (calm delight) today?
TWO: If I can remember that the Lord will do things in unexpected ways to accomplish His purposes, I can find JOY when I think I’m out of options.
Reflection Question: When has the Lord done the unexpected thing in an unexpected way to bring you JOY when you thought you were out of options?
THREE: If I can remember that Jesus chose to become like us, I can find JOY when I don’t feel like anyone knows what I am going through.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, we have seen his glory, the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” - John 1:14 NIV
“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.”
- John 1:14 The Message
When we hand a child a box of crayons, they will draw for hours. When we hand an adult a box of crayons, they will quickly tell us they are not an artist. Where did we lose our wonder, and how can we reclaim it? Using your imagination, draw a picture of John 1:14 as the Lord reveals it to you.
